I have forgotten my password. What can I do?

Simply click here enter your email address, and we will send your password to you.
Why not change your password to one you find easier to remember. Once signed in you can change your password at any time by clicking on 'My Personal Details' under the 'My Account' heading in the left hand menu.

I have never recieved my password

If you have an email account with any kind of junk mail filtering, eg: Hotmail, then please check your junk folder for the password. If necessary, please add the email address webmaster@thepresentknowledge.com to your allowed list of emails.

Membership

If I am not a full member what access to the Present Knowledge do I have?

  • It is free to access full member's sites that have given you authorised access by a unique password - assigned via email.
  • You can also see an overview of the Present knowledge site before joining
  • You can create unlimited promise vouchers
  • You can access information pages such as:
    i. charity picks
    ii. hints and tips
    iii. wish list ideas
    iv. wish list examples
    v. profile information

    How much does it cost to join The Present Knowledge?

    To register as a full membership for the annual fee of £5 or £12.50 for family of 4 per annum.

    As a full member what access to the Present Knowledge do I have?

    In addition to the facilities available to Non Members, Full Members may:

    i. create up to date birthday/christmas, baby and wedding wish lists
    ii. create unlimited promise vouchers
    iii. enter details relating to personal likes for present buying by completing 'my profile' information which includes: vital statistics, hobbies and interests, about me, food likes, visits, news.
    iv. arrange a party
    v. share details of an organised fundraising event, including your sponsor form.
    vi. add email addresses to their address book, enabling a unique database generated
    password to be sent to all invitees in that list. Enabling those invitees to access your online information.

    Why do you charge for full membership?

    We do not make any money from commission on gifts as we are not a gift site and we don't accept sponsorship or advertising.

    How do I join if I am under 18?

    You can be any age to join The Present Knowledge - if you are under the age of 18 it is recommended to join under the "Family membership" option. If you are under 18 and dont have your own debit card we recommend you ask your parent/guardian to provide payment details for your membership using an appropriate credit/debit card.

    I am worried about giving my credit card details over the internet.

    You can be totally confident when you are making a credit/debit card payment for The Present Knowledge service. The Present Knowledge use WorldPay for secure online credit card transactions. WorldPay are an internationally recognised organisation, and were the first company to develop an online store with secure payments. Worldpay ensure their Secure Server Software encrypts your credit card information to ensure your transaction with us is private and protected as they travel over the Internet.

    How do I find my way around the site?

    A good place to start is our overview. This shows you what is available. Then, depending on what you want to try first, use the 'start' links in the left hand margin.

    In addition, you can visit our 'Hints & Tips' page and Fun and unusual gift ideas' page to find some alternative ways of giving.

    To return to the homepage either click the present logo in the top left corner, or use the HOME link in the left hand margin.

    How do I add or delete others access to my information?

    Use your address book. The link is in the left hand margin, but we've added it here too.

    Vouchers

    'Make my voucher' button fails?

    Firstly, please ensure you have the very latest version of Adobe Reader. It is freely available for download by clicking on the image below.

    Secondly, Open Adobe Reader on your computer (Start > Programs > Adobe Reader) and then click on the menu Edit > Preferences. From the left hand menu select Internet, and uncheck the top option 'Display PDF in browser'.

    If you are still having trouble, please update your internet browser. If you use Internet Explorer, please go to www.windowsupdate.com and install the latest updates from there. Alternatively, you may like to consider using a different browser called Firebird, avail from www.mozilla.org.
